Meghan has worked with Edgewater Design LLC to complete multiple project phases with the New York City School Construction Authority. These projects include scope reporting, schematic design, construction documents, and construction administration. These projects are in various states of completion.
The Urban Agriculture School Yard is a large asphalt yard with two temporary classroom units placed at the center. The school is located in the South Bronx and has a very high graduation rate. The aim of this project is to create outdoor learning spaces that offer students the ability to interact with plants, grow food in multiple modes of production, and create places for instruction from farmers and scientists in residence. Many areas of planting and permeable pavement created a scheme that requires no drainage infrastructure. The project is still in construction documentation (as a result of a structural issue at the entrance to the building) and is scheduled for completion in 2020.
